PROJECT PROPOSAL
Project Title
Abot-kamay Mo, Kabataan!
Project Duration
The time frame of the project is for the whole second semester of Academic Year
2006-2007. The implementation will be twice a month during Sundays in the morning.
Project Scope
The site of the project is in North Employees (Urban Poor) in Lucena City.
Project Status
The project is new. This will be the first time that North Employees (Urban
Poor) in Lucena City will have this kind of project.
Project Beneficiaries
The number of families that will benefit from the project is 30, approximately
60 people. The beneficiaries will be the children of the families
in the barangay. The direct beneficiaries of the project are the children of
60 in number while the indirect beneficiaries are their parents who will be
guiding them during the activities.
The beneficiaries that are involved in the project are willing to participate
in the said project though they don't have enough assistance in terms of helping
the children in their studying skills.
Project Background
The primary problem that can be answered by the project is having less opportunity
for the children to build their self-esteem and develop their skills. It started
since they are living in a non-urbanized area of Lucena City. The people who
are affected by this problem are the children in a way that they are less privileged
when it comes in socializing and interacting with the other people. The project
proposal was developed after knowing that most of the children in the area don't
have the chance to explore other opportunity that their community could have
upon implementing the project.
Project Justification
It is definitely necessary to solve the felt problem for the reason that most
of the children in the country are often neglected, not recognizing or even
appreciating their capabilities in their own little ways. The good effect of
this project on the people is that, aside form having the chance to socialize
and interact with the other people, they can also be motivated to improve their
skills. And by joining the activities that will be conducted, they can have
the opportunity to develop their skills and at the same time, finding it fun
and enjoying.
Project Objectives
The general objectives of the project are to help them to improve their studying
skills, to enhance their capabilities and talents in different fields, to give
them the opportunity to socialize and interact with one another, to provide
them assistance and to let them to feel that they are not neglected in the society
especially those who are less fortunate.
The specific objectives are as follows: to help improve their self-esteem, self-motivation
and confidence, to enhance their knowledge, to practice their social skills
and to share with them what we have.
Project Description
The project has the goal of touching the lives of our young brothers and sisters
who are not as fortunate as the other children. It will be conducted through
the helping hands of the group. In cooperation with ACAP, there will be something
provided for the children (e.g. food and snacks, school supplies, informative
toys/materials, etc.), the group will be the one who will organize it twice
a month during Sundays. It is a series of voluntarily sharing with the children
of North Employees Lucena City. The group will also prepare a sort of activities
that will be participated by the children after giving some lectures and inspirational
messages and stories with them.
Project Proponent
The project proponent is the ACAP (stands for Associazione Cristiana "Aiuto
Pratico" which means Christian Association for "Practical Help").
It is a group of simple people, who want to help anyone in the various problems
of life, witnessing at the same time the essence of the Christian message. Its
members are mostly Italian and Filipino individuals whose aim is to extend their
helping hands to the needy. It was organized in December 28, 2001 with its founder-president
Fred Zacaria. Acap is not a hierarchy, it is a network of unconnected Christians
working autonomously and it does not have a specific headquarter. Their projects
exist both in Italy and Philippines like feeding program, spreading the good
news, helping the needy, etc.

The project that we implemented is a "Sunday school "project we have
conducted are project twice a month, started last January 2007 and ended up
last March 11, 2007, the last visit in North Employees which we conducted the
Graduation Day. Every visit, we are having a set of activities to be accomplished
in that day. Included in that activities are the teaching lessons sessions,
informative games, group interactions, spiritual upliftment and feeding. Our
sessions usually starts at 9 o'clock in the morning and ends at around past
11 o'clock depending on the activity we have to accomplish in terms of our expenditures
for the said projects, we have allotted Php1,000 for each meeting, included
in the budget are the school supplies, other materials and the food/snacks for
about 35-40 children who attended our sessions.
The total number of the members of the justice group is 26 members, we have
2 mentors per group according to their age, because their ages vary. Each group
has about 5-10 children. And often their mentors have finished their lessons,
we will already have our snacks preparing for another session, which is spiritual
upliftment that is lead by Pastor Jonathan Lee. We used to sing praises God
and after that, we will listen to some messages in the bible which is also lead
by Pastor Jonathan Lee.
